Wyoma Jean Carlson

POCATELLO " Wyoma J. Carlson, 71, passed away at a local medical center on Monday October 6th, 2008. She was born April 11, 1937 to Willard an Wyoma Honneycutt in Casper, Wyoming. Wyoma grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. Wyoma was known to her brothers and sister as Toots.

In 1953 she married Willy Robinson and together they had three children; Robin, Kevin and Starla. In 1961 she married Roy V. Carlson and together they had another daughter Teresa. Wyoma and Roy lived in Pocatello until 1974 when they moved to Arco, Idaho.

Wyoma loved the outdoors. In her younger years she was a member of the Silver Sage Riding Club in Pocatello. She loved helping her daughter Teres in 4-H and GVGRA. Wyoma and Roy Spent many hours riding horses around the hills of the Arco valley. Wyoma enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. Some of her fondest memories were the hunting trips taken with her father, brother Bud, Roy and her children. She enjoyed bird hunting with her son-in-law, Bret Reynolds and special friends Jerry Custer and Johnny Bullock.

One of Wyoma's passions was cooking. She enjoyed having dinner parties and cooking specialty dishes for her friends and family. With her cooking skills Wyoma owned and operated tow small restaurants in South East Idaho. She also owned a meat cutting business in Arco where she processed wild game and smoked meats. Wyoma loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers, she liked to play bingo and was a member of two pinnacle clubs. Wyoma also worked for Farmers Insurance Group as one of the cooks. After retirement she would travel to Arizona to visit with her brother Bud and nephew Matt. The last few years she enjoyed going fishing with her grandsons Casey and Robert. They would fish small lakes and rivers around Pocatello. Wyoma also spent a lot of time with her youngest granddaughter Kristin teaching her cooking skills.

Wyoma is survivied by; her children, Robin (Mike) Deck, Kevin Robinson, Starla (Greg) Daniels, Teresa (Bret) Reynolds; stepson, Roy Steven (Ember) Carlson; stepdaughter, Nan (John) Horlocher; her brother Bud Honeycutt of Arizona and sister Lois Moeller of Pocatello; 11 grandchildren: Brooks Robinson (Kevin), TJ Horlocher (Nan), Kyle (Lindsey) Reynolds, Casey Reynolds, Vicki (Jard) Christensen (Teresa), Robert J. Heath, Kristin Daniels (Starla), Paul Deck, Roseann Deck (Robin), Steve Carlson and Kristina Carlson (Steven), 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wyoma was preceded in death by her husband Roy V. Carlson, both parents Willard and Wyoma Honeycutt, brothers Matt and Harvey Honeycutt, and a stepdaughter Kim Wong.

The family will hold a “Celebration of Life” for Wyoma from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday October 25th 2008 at the Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. Cards can be sent to Wyoma Carlson c/o the Carlson family at 1040 E. Hayden, Pocatello, Idaho 83201
