Winford Wayne Lomon, 57, of Pocatello, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Win was born on June 23, 1952, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. He was the second of nine children to John and Wanda Loman. He loved cars in his youth, especially racing and working on them. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1970. He then enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman. He was honorable discharged from active duty March 3, 1972. Win was married and had two children; William and Melinda. He was later divorced. He started his academic studies at Bartlesville Wesleyan University and graduated with a B.A. in accounting in 1992. He married Diana Hill in March of 1994 in Miami, Oklahoma, where he became the father to her son Darren. Win worked in Law Enforcement in Texas and Arkansas while concurrently operating an auto repair garage. Win and Diana loved to ride with their friends in the Portneuf Valley Hog and American Legion Riders. He was a charter member of the America Legion Riders. He also loved fishing and camping in the Idaho outdoors. Win as a very gregarious and never met a stranger. He went out of his way to help Veterans at the memorial building. He is survived by his wife Diana of Pocatello; children William Lomon of Arkansas, Darren Tipton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers John and Grover Lomon; 7 sisters, Mary (Donald) Real, Cathy (Tim) King, Nita (Raymond) Humphries, Betty (Tommie) DeWitt, Tammy Lomon and Peggy (David) Jones, Johnie Lantz, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and all of the Legion Riders and Porteuf Valley Hog he considered his family. His is preceded in death by his parents. A veterans memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building, 300 N Johnson., Pocatello.
