Wilmer Aurelio Robinson, 81, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at a local medical center. Services for Wilmer Aurelio Robinson will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1 pm at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 253 Valley View Drive, Pocatello, ID 83201. Wilmer Aurelio Robinson was born August 26, 1935 in Colon, Panama. His father worked for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and his mother was a housewife. Wil seemed to always be hungry, especially walking home from school. Sometimes Sylvia would give him money to buy bread on the way home from school. Since Wil would be famished after school, he would remove a slice or two from the middle then would put the loaf together. Of course, Sylvia would reprimand him but it never stopped him from doing it another time. At the age of 14, his parents sent him to Caldwell, Idaho, to go to school at Gem State Academy. He loved going to school there. He had two roommates, Charlie Smith and Rodney Roe. The three of them have been friends for life along with other students at Gem State. Wil's parents had provided violin lessons for Wil so the violin went with him to Gem State Academy. He was short of money one time so he sold the violin to the Bakery Manager for $15. Hmmmmm Since Wil was born in Panama and was not a citizen of the United States, he had to renew his papers so he could stay in this country legally. He would have to make a trip to Canada and come back into the United States to obey the law. How many young people between 14 and 18 years of age had the sense to have to make a trip like that! Wil was intrigued with how things work and followed a path of a Mechanical Engineer. He had an inquisitive mind his whole life. He worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years. The last Engineering job he had was in San Diego, California. Randy (and Denise), Bob, Sherry (and Alan) are the names of his children. They are all wonderful and successful. Jason, Brandon, Lindsey and Josh are the names of his grandchildren. All have degrees behind their names. After moving to Idaho in 2004, he was proficient in trading stocks. He loved to read and had more than one book going at a time. He suffered many illnesses and endeared himself to multiple doctors here in Pocatello. They all loved him and enjoyed visiting with him. Tears were shed by three doctors who were in the room when he passed.
