Wilma Jeane Stauffer, 80, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at a local long term care center. She was born in Pocatello on December 21, 1928 to A. Wayne and Edith Jeanette (Drake) Brower. She was raised and educated in Pocatello, attending Whittier Elementary, Franklin Jr. High, Pocatello High School and Idaho State University. Jeane spent her entire life in Pocatello. Jeane married Royce Stauffer on February 5, 1949 in Providence, Utah. They were blessed with four children. She worked for Mountain Bell, Peterson Furniture and at the Naval Ordinance Plant. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved all manner of needle work and was an avid reader. She enjoyed baking and sharing those treats with others. She loved her family very much and was actively involved in their lives. She had a talent for teaching and loved to teach whether it was at church or craft and needlework classes. Jeane had a lifelong thirst for knowledge. Even when relaxing, she always had several different needlework projects in progress and her family received many of these for Christmas and birthdays. Jeane is survived by her children: Amy (David) Johnson, DeWayne (Vickey) Stauffer and Heidi Stauffer, all of Pocatello; brothers, Ronne Brower, Preston, ID and Larry (Linda) Brower, Salt Lake City, UT; a sister, Carol (Sam) Buckley, Rigby, ID and seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, A. Wayne and Edith Jeanette Brower, husband, Royce John Stauffer, infant daughter, Tammi Lynne Stauffer, and sister-in-law, Louise Brower. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Century Ward Chapel, 4th Fredregill. The family will meet with friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
