Wilma A Munn

March 23, 1915 — October 2, 2013

Wilma Arlene Munn, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Wilma was born March 23, 1915 in Topeka, Kansas to Earl William Sturman and Ada Eleanor Conway Sturman. She moved to Idaho as a child to follow her father's work for the railroad. She received her schooling in Montpelier and Pocatello.
Wilma married Calvin A. Munn in Pocatello in 1933. Together they had three sons: Calvin Earl (Jean) Munn, Billie Joe (Bertha) Munn and David Charles Munn. She was a home-keeper and a rancher's wife and they made their living farming and ranching.
Wilma lived in her present location 7773 W. Portneuf Road, since 1938. Originally she lived in a two room cabin where she raised her three sons. In the late 60's they moved to a small, comfortable house in which she loved. She spent the rest of her days in that home.
Wilma was a very good cook and she cooked many meals on a wood burning stove for haying and round-up crews. She was an avid button collector which she devoted her life and part of her home to. She made many appearances on television and did many articles in the paper. Wilma loved her family and friends. She was never heard gossiping about anyone. She had a kind heart and will be sorely missed by everyone. She was the true meaning of old school. She was a trusted and loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. God speed Mom.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Calvin in 1982, a son, Calvin Jr., both parents, a brother, Roderick (Grace) Sturman, Leonard (Mable) Sturman, and brothers-in-law, Claude Whitehead, Bill Brown and Bob Young.
She is survived by her sons: Billy Joe (Bertha) Munn, David Munn, daughter-in-law, Jean Munn, grandchildren, Amy Goodman, Neely (Andrew) Stone, Michelle (Gerry) Cloward, Rose Mary (Jason) Payne, Holly (Kelly) Gregson, David Munn, Danny Munn, Ruth Ellen Varena, Laura Adams-Clarke, Christine Stone, Karen Munn, Joyce Buttars, Billy Jean Bauer, three sisters: Eleanor Whitehead of West Virginia, Shirley Brown of Pocatello, Faith Young of Pocatello, a brother, Mike (Linda) Sturman of Twin Falls, over 20 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
