William T. Mitchener

August 27, 1941 — February 24, 2011

POCATELLO- William T. ‘Willie' Mitchener, 69, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011, at a local hospital from a brief illness.

Willie was born in Colorado. He attended school in Downey, California and graduated high school in 1959.

Willie served an honorable military service in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 in Germany.

In 1976, Willie moved to Pocatello. He worked for Homeguard siding, from which he retired in 2007.

Willie enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his children, where he loved to hunt and fish.

Willie is survived by his son; Sean Mitchener, daughter; Amber Turner, son; Kyle Mitchener, grandson; Corbin William Turner, all of Pocatello, and brothers; Frank and Melvin Mitchener both of California.
He is preceded in death by Cody Mitchener, Wilma Mitchener, and Robert Gentry Mitchener.

Memorial services for Willie will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2011, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, with Pastor Russ Blair from The Inkom Community Bible Church officiating. Military rights will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. Please take careful note of the change in location from what was printed in the Saturday edition of the Journal.
