William Richmond

William Victor Richmond passed away Wednesday, February 6 th , 2013, at Highland Hills (62 years old). He was born December 15 th , 1950, in Pocatello, Idaho, to James and Betty (Seamons) Richmond. Bill received his education at Pocatello High School. Shortly thereafter, Bill worked at Whitman Caf(c) where he met his best friend, Judy, and gained two sons (Troy Richmond and Leo Madrid) which he adored. Bill and Judy were married November 8 th , 1974 (39 years). Bill took great pride in working for the Coca Cola Company in Pocatello, Idaho, for 31 years. He really did believe in "Having a Coke and a Smile." In fact, Bill had a Coke machine on his own front porch. He cheerfully watched neighbors, friends, family, and children purchase a can of refreshment for only a quarter. Each can had an individualized note that read "winner" or offered a discount of some sort. Throughout Bills life, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball and was a trainer for Pocatello High's wrestling and football teams. (He enjoyed participating in every activity that Troy and Leo were involved with). His favorite hobby was playing cards, especially rummy, with all his friends at Highland Hills - he truly loved those moments. He also found joy in teaching card games to anyone who was willing to learn. Spiritually, Bill was involved with the Knights of Columbus, and he was also an active member at St. Joseph's Church. Together, Bill and Judy enjoyed volunteering at The Senior Citizen Center where they would help serve lunch and visit those in need. Bill is survived by his wife, Judy Fae Richmond; son, Troy (Kristi) Richmond, granddaughter, Jalyn Rose Richmond; son, Leo Madrid; brother, Bob (Valerie) Richmond, and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and James Richmond and his brother JR Richmond. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (504 N .7 th Ave.) in Pocatello, Idaho, on Saturday, February 9 th , 2013 at 7:00 PM. Please join us for a reception that will follow the memorial service in the basement of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
