Bob Hershey

William “Bob” Robert Hershey, 67, passed away, December 7, 2024.

Bob was born October 18, 1957 to Virgil "Jack" and Bettie Hershey in Sacramento, CA. Bob grew up in Sacramento and graduated in 1975 from Encina High School.

Bob worked for Atlas Disposal Industries, he started in 2001 and retired as their head mechanic in 2024 after 23 years and moved to Idaho with his wife.

Bob was a lifelong waterfowl hunter. He loved fishing for sturgeon, and was a devoted life long 49er fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR, ATV trail riding and many other outdoor activities. He liked crime shows, exploring with his wife, yardwork, classic rock music, and home cooked meals and treats.

Bob is survived by his wife, Irene Velbeck Hershey of Chubbuck; son, Casey (Liz Holt) Hershey of Sacramento; brothers, Jim (Candy) Hershey of Hamilton, MT, and Glen (Martha) Hershey of Sacramento, CA; nieces, Lindsey Hershey of Alaska, Tamara Vega of Long Beach, CA, April Nham, and Taylor Hershey both of Sacramento, CA; and nephew, Hunter Hershey of Sacramento, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil "Jack" and Bettie Hershey; and older brother, Randall Hershey.
