William "Willie" D. Linton, 79, joined his family and friends January 21, 2018.
Dad was born in Pocatello on December 2, 1938, to Irene and Don Linton.
He attended St. Joes 1st-8th grade and Pocatello High School where he graduated in 1957. During this time, he met several life-long friends. The stories Dad would tell us about them always put a smile on his face and ours.
Dad worked at the Chevy garage, Muril's service station and Bangs before moving to the Post Office where he retired in 1998.
Dad and Mom hooked up in 1958 and married March 14, 1959. They had four children, Willie, Vicki, Denise and Janel.
As kids, we had so many adventures as a family. Dad loved to fish and camp and we had the opportunity to see many beautiful places. Growing up in the country, Dad gave us such an awesome childhood raising all kinds of farm animals. We learned so much from our Dad.
Dad loved his garden. He had a beautiful garden every summer, planting dozens of tomato plants without the help of others. They had to be planted just the right way.
He was such an amazing grandpa spending countless hours supporting all of his grandchildren's activities.
Dad will be missed at our annual family event in Island Park. All the family loved how he was still with us around the camp fire after midnight. He was such a trooper.
Dad is survived by his wife Rose, son Willie, daughters Vicki (Ted), Denise (Mike) and Janel (Keith), 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Don and mother, Irene, his best friends and family he loved.
Per Dad's wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
