William J Winters, 86, a long time Chubbuck resident passed away peacefully Friday, July 20, 2018 at home surrounded by his family after a short illness.
William (Bill) was born January 11, 1932 in Rushville, Nebraska to George & Frances Winters. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1950 and in January of 1952 was enlisted in the Air Force where he became an aircraft propeller specialist and mechanic, serving time at Travis AFB in California until January 1962 when he was honorably discharged.
While living in California he met and married Pauline Taylor on August 6, 1955. They raised 4 sons in California until 1970 when the family moved to Pocatello/Chubbuck where he became certified to operate an American Oil Service Station and started Bill & Mikes Service which is still in operation today.
Bill is survived by his four sons, Michael S. (Mona) Taylor, Gary (Sherri) Winters, Robert (Joy) Winters, and Ronald (Lisa) Winters; grandchildren Janelle R. Anderson Valenzuela of Pocatello, Jennifer R. (Adam) Anderson Burgasser of San Diego, Nick Winters, Kelsie Winters, Spencer Winters Josh (Erika) Winters, Brad Winters, Darby Winters, Kristina Anne Taylor all of Pocatello; and two great grandchildren, Melissa Ramsey (Janelle's daughter) and Keegan Johnson.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Pauline, his parents George and Frances, his brothers George Jr. & Harold, and his sisters Betty Jane & Doris.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Calvary Alliance Church, 800 Marinus Lane, in Pocatello. His funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road.
