William "Bill" Hunziker

William (Bill) Hunziker was born July 18, 1934 in Boulder, Colorado to William and Frieda Hunziker. The family moved to Pocatello in 1946 where he attended school and lived his entire life.

Bill enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1954. Shortly after joining the Marines he married his sweetheart Shirley Kynaston on July 5, 1955. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. Bill is the proud father of Mitzi McHugh, Willie Hunziker, and Bradley Hunziker.

Bill worked construction all his life with Hunziker Construction being his greatest achievement. He enjoyed working with his brother Fred, sons Brad and Willie, and nephew Jeff. He treated everyone that worked there as if they were family.

Retiring in June 1999, Bill and Shirley became snowbirds living in their home in Yuma, Arizona for 6 months and Pocatello the other 6 months. Bill had many interests and hobbies including racing modified cars (taking the A Class Championship in 1968 at the Pocatello Speedway), classic cars, watching NASCAR and family barbecues.

Bill is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Mitzi (Kevin) McHugh, sons Willie Hunziker and Brad (Dena) Hunziker, sister-in-law Karen Hunziker, all of Pocatello.

Grandpa Bill to 10 wonderful grandchildren and Great Grandpa Bill to 13 great grandchildren. Everyone loved him and he loved us all.

Bill received his wings August 3, 2016. Funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Foundation - 6126 W.
