Willard "Butch" Bottles

Willard Howard Bottles, 70, passed away on October 4, 2016 at the Portneuf Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Butch was born June 1, 1946 in Pocatello, Idaho to William D. Bottles and Edith Lyle Honeycutt Bottles. He attended schools in Pocatello.

Butch joined the U.S. Navy in 1965, and served on the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard and the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. While serving in the Navy, he was awarded three medals: the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Following his military service, Butch attended a waste treatment schooling program in Eugene, Oregon; and became certified to manage a waste treatment facility.

Butch was a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 370, and worked several projects at the INL site as an equipment operator and other projects in Idaho.

Butch married Sandy Madsen and they were later divorced. He married Lillis Leann Hanson on November 30, 1996. They traveled every chance they had to go fishing and hunting with family and friends. He received much joy in wheelin' and dealin' in his lifetime.

Butch is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Sean) Smith of Cedar City, UT; his son, Mike (Kim) Benbow of Blackfoot, ID; sisters, Hazel (Larry) Madsen of Idaho Falls, ID; Linda Monrad of Redmond, OR; Charlene Cahoon of Boise, ID; Lisa Bottles of Pocatello, ID; a brother, Chris (Debbie) Cahoon of Chubbuck, ID; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill "Shorty" Bottles, Jimmy Bottles, and Clint Cahoon.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor at 12:00 Noon, Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post 23, 436 N. Fisher Street, Blackfoot, Idaho 83221. You are invited to bring a side dish to share if you choose.

Butch's family requests memorial contributions to be made in his honor to Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, to be included for his grave marker.
