Willard Alfred Rowe Jr.

Willard A. Rowe Jr. passed away, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Pocatello, on February 19, 2016 at 95 years of age. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee; stepson, Jack; and his great-grandson, Ethan. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Miles, Helen, Elda, Raymond; and his parents, Margaret Ann Phillips Rowe and Willard A. Rowe Sr. He is survived by his daughters, Neva, Reva, and Zeata (Steve); his daughter-in-law, Marla; his stepson, Thomas (Amy); and his brother, Patrick (Linda). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Brendan, Damon, Celene, Ashlee and Samantha; plus 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Born on May 3, 1920, he was raised in American Falls and spent time during his youth in Tacoma and Spokane He farmed in Fairview and later owned and operated, until he retired, the Clifton Motel in American Falls and Pocatello. Willard was always ready to accompany friends and family on road trips. Many were enjoyed with his dear friend, George Roberts. He was part of the "Greatest Generation" and served in the US Army during WWII in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), the Rhineland, and the North Africa and Central Europe campaigns. He later served in the US Army in Korea and Far East from 1949 to 1952. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24 from 6-7:30 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S.4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Graveside Services, with Military Honors, and interment will be at the Neeley Cemetery, 3249 Neeley Rd, American Falls, on Thursday, February 25 at 3:00 pm conducted by Pastor Jon Beake. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Mills and the staff at Heritage Hospice.
