Wendy Sue Vaughn

Wendy Sue Thompson Vaughn, 51, passed away on Thursday, August 09, 2012 at the home of her sister, having fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 20, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mabel Elizabeth Harris and Jerry Martin Thompson. We moved to Pocatello where she graduated from Pocatello High School. Shortly after she started to work at Farmers Insurance Group, working thirty plus years. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On May 22, 1993 she married the love of her life David Matthew Vaughn in Pocatello, Idaho. They had one daughter Michelle E. Vaughn. David was taken away from both of them much too soon in 2001.

Wendy was extremely talented, she was a wonderful cook. She did needlepoint, watercolors, oil paintings, ceramic and crocheting. Everything she did was done to perfection. Family members and friends were given these gifts. The last few months she made afghans for all of her nieces and nephews.

Special thanks go to her sister Cindy and Kelly Garner and her family for caring for her in her home the last few weeks. To Nancy and Burt Sandau, for their love and care for her. To her brother Mark who saw to her needs the past eleven years. To Farmers Insurance Group for their support through her entire battle. To her neighbors and friends on Pinewood for their support. To Dr, Todd and Ririe and their staff at Portneuf Cancer Center. To Alliance Home Health and Hospice and to the many friends she has worked with for so long.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle E. Vaughn, her parents Mabel and Bill Cutler of Fort Hall, Idaho, brother Mark J. Thompson, Pocatello, Idaho, sister Roanna (Mark) Blackham, Batavia, Ohio, sister Cindy (Kelly) Garner, Pocatello, Idaho, brother Kent (Stephanie) Thompson, Blackfoot, Idaho, and all of her nieces and nephews. Step-brothers and sisters Arch (Millie) Cutler, Fort Hall, Idaho, Larry (Amy) Cutler, Sico, Oregon, Brent (Ester) Cutler, Pocatello, Idaho, Gene (Phylis) Cutler, Pocatello, Idaho, Sharalee (Bruce) Duncan, Nampa, Idaho, father-in-law Michael Vaughn, Pocatello, Idaho, sister-in-law, Karen Vaughn, Pocatello, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Matthew Vaughn, her father Jerry Martin Thompson and her Mother-in-law, Eleanor Vaughn.
