Wayne Ace Millward, 74, of Pocatello, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 17, 1936 to George and Elsie Millward in Bancroft, Idaho. He was raised in Chesterfield and attended school in Bancroft and Pocatello. He attended Idaho State University as well as Stanford University where he graduated with a Masters degree in Latin American Studies. In 1958, while serving a mission for the LDS church in Brazil, he met Ruth Ann Allingham. They were married on September 25, 1959 in the Logan Temple. Together they raised six children: Rachelle, Robert, Teresa, Michael, Richard, and Andrew. Wayne worked for the FBI for 25 years in El Paso, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, Cut Bank, Montana, and Pocatello. After retirement he served as a mission president in the Belo Horizonte Mission for the LDS Church. He had a great appreciation for music. He played both the piano and guitar, and taught music lessons for many years. He also collected and repaired antique clocks. He loved to garden and tend his fruit trees. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Kay Millward, and sister Joyce Jorgenson. He is survived by his wife Ruth Millward; daughter Rachelle (Loren) Huntsman of Lyman, Wyoming; son Robert (Tara) Millward of Loveland, Colorado; daughter Teresa (Todd) Praska of Pocatello; Michael (Stephanie) Millward of Inkom; Richard (Stella) Millward of Portland, Oregon; son Andrew Millward of Spokane, Washington; brother George (Jan) Millward of Chesterfield; brother Michael (Sharon) Millward of Meridian; 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010, at the Mink Creek Ward LDS Chapel, 8200 Portneuf Road. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, and also one 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a. m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow services at the Chesterfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the ISU Foundation, care of the Wayne A. Millward Guitar Scholarship Fund.
