Wayne Eugene Messenger, 73, of Chubbuck, passed away on March 28, 2020.
Wayne was born on December 21, 1946 in his maternal grandmother's home in Woodville, Idaho. His parents are Ray and June Messenger. His family lived up and down the west coast states. He graduated from high school in Idaho and jointed the Air Force in the late 60's. During his service, he was in the Vietnam War where he earned many medals which exemplified his excellent service to his country.
Wayne met LaDean in Logan, Utah in 1980. They were married on April 17, 1981 in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Wayne liked working on cars, especially with his dad. He also liked to spend time with their three dogs. Wayne loves the Lord, LaDean, his family and friends, as well as the country that he served.
Wayne is survived by his brother Arlin Messenger of Idaho Falls, as well as his sisters Vivian Bergeron of Twin Falls, DonEtta Messenger of Pocatello, and Kathy Kingsley of Pocatello.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDean, 6 sisters, 1 brother, and his parents.
His family would like to thank all friends, medical staff, and family members who helped take care of Wayne for the last six months.
A "walk by" viewing will be held for Wayne from 4-8 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road at the southeast corner of the building. Wayne's private service will be webcast at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3rd at https://www.wilksfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Wayne-Messenger/. Following the service, Wayne will be taken to the Teton-Newdale Cemetery where he will be interred next to his sweetheart, LaDean.
