Wanda L. Morris

Wanda passed away at her home November 18, 2017 with family by her side. She was born November 17, 1924 in Pocatello, Idaho the oldest of three girls to Nickolas & Mary Polatta.

Wanda lived and worked in Pocatello all of her life; attending Bonneville, Franklin and graduated from Pocatello High School. After graduating she went to work as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell. She also worked for Farmers Insurance, Anderson Lumber and 15 years for the Bannock County court system.

In 1944 she met and married the love of her life of 73 years, Preston H. Morris. In 1946 she welcomed her only child, daughter Sheri. She devoted all her time to being a stay at home mom until Sheri started school.

Wanda enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling and her favorite, fishing from her boat; especially when they went to their place in Island Park.

She believed in having Sundays as family dinner day and the tradition still goes on only with her daughter and granddaughters doing the cooking.

Wanda is survived by: her husband, Preston of Pocatello; daughter, Sheri Taylor of Pocatello; two granddaughters, Michelle (Gibb) Stotts of Pocatello, Tricia Jacks of Pocatello; three great-granddaughters Ashlee & Lacee Thomsen and Cheyanna Jacks; one great grandson, Dakota Rowe; two great-great grandsons, Wyatt Rowe and Preston Jacks and one great-great granddaughter, Addi Rowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Lou Dubbe & Barbara Bowman.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24th at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Per Wanda's wishes she was cremated and burial will take place at a later date. .
