Waketta L. Horejs

Waketta Lee Rasmussen Horejs was born November 23rd 1939 to Cora Elizabeth Nelson and Arthur L. Rasmussen. She joined her parents, father in-law Larry Horejs, and Great-Granddaughter Waketta Mia Baka in heaven on February 15th 2011.

Waketta retired from the commercial insurance industry in 1997, and pursued her personal passions of gardening, camping and enjoying her family and friends. She was a strong woman and devoted to her family, and her influence lives on in her daughters and granddaughters. Waketta was the center of the family, and even more so as the years progressed and her battle with chronic pain became unbearable. Through the years she took a personal interest in the lives of others, especially those in hard times and, because of that she is held in high regard by the people that knew her. Waketta kept her faith and optimism even in the worst of times, and was looked to for guidance and comfort. Waketta was always up for a challenge whether it was the stresses of life or a friendly competition. Her family always came first in her life; Waketta will be greatly missed but her presence will continue to be with us!

She is survived by her husband of 34 years Rodney Horejs, mother in-law Ina Horejs, son Steven Ashdown, daughters Janet Bryson and Liza Mia Bruder, son in-law Michael Bryson, daughter in-law Mary Ann Ashdown, grandchildren Kristopher and Steven Bryson, Christina Edwards, Ashley Bruder, grandson in-law Dustin Edwards, Brothers Larry Rasmussen and Bob Nelson, Sisters Cathy Lee Ziemba and Louise Clark.
