W. R. "Bill" Hottel

W. R. "Bill" Hottel, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Pocatello, on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was born on February 4, 1939 to Benjamin Franklin Hottel and Eva Margarot Hottel. Bill attended Roosevelt Elementary, Alameda and Pocatello High School, graduating in 1958. In 1961 he married Rosalie Szymanski. They were later divorced but remained good friends. Together they had 5 children. Bill worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years and also owned B&D Enterprises. He was a member of the LDS faith. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, stock car racing, family get-togethers, and attending his grandchildrens school programs and sporting activities. He is survived by his children, Lori (Wayne) Averett, Pocatello, ID, Robby (Sandra) Hottel, UT, Bubba (Teresa) Hottel, Pocatello, ID, Camille Kennedy, Pocatello, ID, Ginger (Andy) Powers, Boise, ID; ex-spouse, Rosalie Hottel, Pocatello, ID; sisters, Ann Vaughn, UT, Mae Hitchcock, Pocatello, ID, Chris Hill, Lewiston, ID, Peggy Mielke, CA; brothers, John Hottel, Georgetown, ID, Duane Hottel, Pocatello, ID, Lester Hottel, NV; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Hottel; mother, Eva Hottel; brothers, Steve Hottel, Benny Hottel; and grandson, Mathew George Kennedy. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 am at the LDS Mountain Park Ward Chapel, 4600 Victory Ave. Chubbuck, ID 83202, with visitation for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
