POCATELLO - Virginia Payne, 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at a local care facility. Virginia was born on August 26, 1933, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Lester and Irene Betty. When she was 5 years old her family moved to Shoshone, ID, to homestead a farm. They lived in a box car with 9 siblings, where they learned to work hard, picking rock and pulling sagebrush. In 1950 Virginia married Don Burgoyne. They traveled the western states while Don worked construction. They had 6 children, losing one at 10 months old, and settled to raise their family in Blackfoot. Virginia and Don were involved in horse racing, bowling, and square dancing. In 1978 their marriage ended. During her time in Blackfoot, Virginia worked in sales for radio advertising. Her dad always said "she could sell ice to Eskimos." Later on she sold manufactured homes. She always loved people and was involved with Toastmasters and starred in commercials and a TV documentary which still airs today. On October 2, 1981, she married Tom Payne. He passed away on June 2, 2002. In 2003 she married William Earl Turner. Together they shared 2 dogs, Toy and Grizz. On March 21, 2013, Earl passed away. Because of her health issues, Virginia spent the last few years living at Quail Ridge Assisted Living. She loved all the wonderful staff and her dearest friend P.J. Ward. The family would like to express their gratitude to Encompass Home Health! Virginia is survived by her children: Debbie Jensen, Darrell Burgoyne, Kathy Crawford, Donna (Robert) Cooper, Warren Burgoyne; 5 sibling; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Allen Burgoyne, four siblings and two husbands. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Rocky Mountain Ministries located at 845 Hyde St. in Pocatello. A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
