Vicki Lee Winterbottom, 75, passed away on February 1, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1948 in Pocatello, Idaho where she was raised by her parents Harry and Betty Jean Hess.
Vicki attended schools in Pocatello, graduating from Highland High School in 1966. She then went on to attend Idaho State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
She married Jerry Winterbottom in 1968 and to that union a daughter, Becky Lee Winterbottom, was born.
The majority of her employment years were spent working at Sears, selling everything from every department including tires.
Vicki had many interests and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association, as well as a member of the All-Ladies Fishing Derby held in Salmon, Idaho. Vicki loved the outdoors. She enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, riding 4 wheelers and snowmobiles. She enjoyed living up Mink Creek, spending time out in her yard gardening, tending to her flowers, and watching the wildlife that frequently came to visit. She spent time filling her many bird feeders and watching the hummingbirds and other birds that found her yard a haven. Vicki had a green thumb and could grow delicious vegetables in her garden, huge ferns, as well as keeping poinsettias alive year-round. Vicki loved to crochet making lap blankets, where she found pleasure in donating them.
Vicki is survived by her daughter, Becky Winterbottom Scheer of Pocatello, ID; grandson, Thomas Scheer of Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, Jessie Scheer of Boise, ID; great-granddaughter, Samantha Balzer of Pocatello, ID; sister, Sue Ann Bowman of Inkom, ID; brother, Harry “Bucky” (Lauralee) Hess of Pocatello, ID; sister, Kelly (Ronn) Wartenbe of Chubbuck, ID; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry E. Hess and Betty Jean Toombs Hess; husband, Jerry Winterbottom; sister, Barbara Hess Jones; and brother-in-law, Dale Bowman.
