Vernile Byington

November 14, 1923 — January 9, 2016

Vernile J. Byington, son of Elmer William Byington and Josie Hannah Ralphs. Elmer and Josie were both born in Rockland, Idaho. Vernile passed away from natural causes from old age. Vernile was born 14 Nov, 1923 in Gannett Idaho. Vernile had 8 siblings; Ruby (Rulon Stanfield); Nola Porter (Maurice); Ralph (Adeline Henry); Glen; Orville (Martha); Wayne (Helen McCoy); LeeRoy (Lula Firth); Gene (Grace). He married Mary Eliza Jewell in Hailey, Idaho December 28, 1942.

Vernile attended school in Gannett and high school in Hailey. He was a born famer and helped his father and brothers develop the Stalker Ranch, now the Nature Conservancy. He spent his youth working the Stalker Ranch and fishing Silver Creek. He raised a herd of Charolaise cattle and later bred thoroughbred race horses and quarter horses racing them in various places.
He and his wife raised 7 beautiful children; Dennis (Mary); Gary (Donna); David (Kim); Daryl (Darlene); Ken (Linda); Diane; Cheryl (Ken).

Vernile leaves his wife of 72 years, 7 children, 25 grandchildren, and 56 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

At Vernile's request there will be no funeral services. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
