Vern Dale Mitchell

Vern “Mitch” Dale Mitchell, 91, of Pocatello, passed away, October 17, 2023.

Mitch was born December 20, 1931 in Pocatello, Idaho. He had one sibling, Marge Mitchell. He enlisted in the Marine Corp on November 6, 1951. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in 1954. He settled in Pocatello, Idaho with his wife and two daughters.

On November 27, 1954, Mitch married Ina M. Melrose Mitchell in Pocatello.

Mitch enjoyed tennis, bowling, snowmobiling, and flying model airplanes. Later in life, Mitch and Ina loved to travel and see many places.

Mitch is survived by his wife, Ina M Mitchell of Pocatello; daughters, Gay (Bob) Skinner of Littleton, CO and Amy (Troy) Crawford of Pocatello; and grandsons, Scott Skinner of Littleton, CO, Landon Crawford of Belgrade, MT, and Cody (Kaylena) Crawford of Spokane, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wilford Mitchell and Emma Cherry Mitchell.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Blackfoot, 2651 Cromwell Ln, Blackfoot, ID 83221.

The family would like to thank Heritage Home Health and Hospice for the care you gave to Mich and to their friends for their love and support. The family would also like to thank the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post 23 and the Marine Corp Honor guard for providing the military honors and Wilks Funeral Home.
