Verlon T. Jackson

Verlon Thomas Jackson, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 14, 2016 with his wife by his side.

He was born December 29, 1928 to George Henry Jackson & Leda Asenith Ellis Jackson.

Verlon married his sweetheart Berniece Johnson May 8, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple and have had 63 wonderful years together.

He loved farming in the Tyhee Flats areas for over 40 years, raising wheat, hay, sugar beets and cattle. After retiring from farming he worked for the county road and bridge for ten years. After retiring from the county, Verlon & Berniece become funeral assistants and worked for almost 21 years. It was a rewarding and important part of their life.

Verlon is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Berniece Jackson, Pocatello; brother, Robert (Sharon) Jackson of Chubbuck; brother-in-law Gary Faris of Rexburg and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fendon (Helen) Jackson, Velbert (Martalu) Jackson and sister Belva Jane Faris.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18th at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
