Vera C. Armstrong , passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 3, 2015. She was born in Wapello, Idaho on September 10, 1923.
She is survived by her four children, Bruce (Lyn) Armstrong, Brenda (Dan) Jensen, Barton (Jeri) Armstrong and Becky (Randy) Fowers. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband - Ladd Carl Armstrong, parents – Frederick Salisbury Cooper and Josephine Otena Jensen Cooper, brothers – LeRoy, Leslie, Raymond, Virgil and Glen, sisters – Sylvia, Evelyn , Stella and Marie.
She was an active member of the LDS Church. She held several callings in the church over the years.
Vera had many job opportunities over her lifetime, with the City Clerk of Chubbuck, Idaho being her last and longest. She retired in 1983 and after her retirement, she loved to travel, visiting family at their homes and most of all enjoying her family at her cabin in Island Park.
Gardening and yard work were always loved by Vera, she continued this love of gardening thru 2012.
Vera touched many lives and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her special compassionate tendencies were admired and appreciated by many.
Funeral services for Vera will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Chubbuck 8th Ward LDS Chapel at 450 James Avenue in Chubbuck. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow services in the Firth Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at wilksfuneralhome.com.
