Velda Marjorie Raynor

Velda Marjorie Raynor, 79 passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Pocatello, Idaho. Velda was born in Melba, Idaho to Bryan and Nettie Piersol, she was one of eight children. She graduated from Melba High School in 1951 and from a local business school for bookkeeping in 1953. Her first job after graduating was as a bookkeeper at Woolworth's Department Store in Caldwell, Idaho. She retired after 20 years from the Boise School District as a lunch manager. She married her first husband, Benjamin Babb, in July of 1960. She married her current husband of 38 years, Richard Raynor, in May of 1974. Velda enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, traveling, crocheting, cross-stitch, collecting spoons and dolls. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties, especially her annual Christmas party. In more recent years she enjoyed going out to lunch with her son and grandson and visiting friends and family. She was a kind and beautiful soul who was loved by many and will be missed by family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents Bryan and Nettie Piersol, her daughter Sherry Babb, her first husband Benjamin Babb, her sister Velma Riddle, her brothers Homer Piersol and Gene Peirsol. Velda is survived by her husband Richard Raynor, her children Doug Babb, Ben Babb, Laura Middleton, her step-children Becky Eilers, Terri Raynor, Joel Raynor, her brothers Robert Piersol, George Piersol, her sisters Erma Whitten, Colene Warren, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two Memorial Services' will be held, the first will be at University Bible Church, 4700 N. Philbin Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho, Friday December 7, 2012 at 11 am with a viewing at 10 am to 11:00 am. The second at Ten Mile Community Church, 4440 E. Columbia Road, Meridian, Idaho, Saturday December 8, 2012 at 2 pm with a viewing at 1 pm to 2:00 pm. There will be no graveside service but family and friends are welcome to follow out to Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa, Idaho immediately following services.
