Tyler Greg Peterson

December 8, 1983 — January 24, 2025

Pocatello

Tyler Greg Peterson passed away Friday, January 24th, 2025. Tyler was born on December 8th, 1983, at 9:55 a.m. to Greg and Tammy Peterson, joining his sister, Raimee, and brother, Dustin. He was born and raised in Chubbuck, Idaho, attending Syringa Elementary, Alameda Junior High, Century High School, and completed his GED in 2001.

Tyler had a passion for sports, riding bikes, exploring the outdoors, collecting sports cards, playing Super Nintendo, and making friends wherever he went. His list of friends was so extensive it could fill the Pocatello phone book. Travis Burrows and Jason Jones would be at the top of that list, their wild adventures spanning and reconnecting over his lifetime. Tyler found true joy in being outside in God’s country, surrounded by his favorite people, where he felt most at peace.

Ty fiercely loved his family. Dad was his preferred hunting companion and original best friend. Their love of the outdoors created some of the best adventures. Mom has been Tyler’s rock, his loudest advocate, and strongest fighter. Throughout all his life’s challenges, she fought for him until the very end. In earlier years, Tyler and Dustin ruled the neighborhood as the Peterson brothers. You rarely saw one without the other. As oldest and youngest, the bond he had with Raimee was unique and unbreakable. He was always ready to run around town and tackle the challenges of a teenager’s world.

Tyler met his love and future wife, Shaylynn McIntire, in 2014. Their bond brought two precious daughters into the world, Avery Rae and Afton Lyn. Even though Tyler and Shaylynn eventually parted ways, a love for each other remained. Tyler's commitment to his daughters was unwavering and profound. Despite the hardships he faced, he cherished every single moment with Avery Rae and Afton Lyn, always ensuring they were profoundly cared for and loved.

Tyler faced many challenges in his life, including a prolonged battle with drug addiction. Despite his efforts, he succumbed to this disease and passed away due to an overdose. Tyler's journey was marked by moments of hope and resilience, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Tyler's infectious smile, fiendish laugh, beautiful, brilliant blue eyes and kind heart touched everyone he met. Despite his struggles with addiction, his love for his family and friends left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
