Troy J. Eborn

Troy James Eborn returned home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 22, 2018. Troy was born to Paula and James Eborn on September 18, 1968, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the oldest of six children. The Eborn family moved to Pocatello, Idaho in January 1969 where Troy spent the majority of his life.

As a young man, Troy attended Chubbuck Elementary, Hawthorne Junior High and eventually graduated from Highland High School in 1987. Growing up, Troy actively participated in most sports including swimming and baseball. He gained a deep appreciation of horses, the outdoors and hunting from his father. While at Highland High School, Troy participated in football, track, wrestling and musical singing group Trouveres.

After graduation, Troy attended Idaho State University and later graduated in Auto Mechanics from the Phoenix Institute of Technology. He later moved to Laie, Hawaii for one year but eventually returned home to Pocatello and became a CNA. Troy was never afraid of work and loved meeting new people wherever he was. Troy worked at the Portneuf Valley Medical Center, Harbor Freight and with the family construction company WestWind.

Troy married his high school sweetheart, Tawna Lyn Kunz, on April 2, 1993. They were sealed in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on April 16, 1994. Troy and Tawna were the proud parents of three children, Hunter Troy (20), Karson James (19) and Jensyn La'kea (16).

Troy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lived the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved to share his testimony through word and song at youth firesides. He served in many callings including Stake young men's secretary and as a youth Sunday school teacher. He also taught himself how to play the guitar and loved to share his talent of music at many church gatherings, weddings and funerals.

Troy and Tawna's children are their absolute pride and joy. Troy spent countless hours coaching and teaching life lessons to his children on the athletic field. He loved spending time with family no matter the setting – and that setting always included laughter, food and sometimes the famous splits. To know Troy was to love him and his family meant everything to him. Troy was also so proud of his Polynesian heritage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tawna, and their three children; his mother, Paula Eborn; brothers Eric (Stephanie) Eborn, Ryan (Lisa) Eborn, and Dane (Emilee) Eborn; sisters, Nicole (Brandon) Farris, Danielle (Tory) Bosworth; and 34 nieces and nephews. Troy is also survived by his recently found brothers, Scot Wahlquist, Dave Seljestad, Kiti Maile, Maika Maile. He is preceded in death by his father, James Eborn, brother-in-law Travis Kunz, and sister Analiku Maile.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, at the Tyhee LDS Stake Center (12146 West Tyhee Road). A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 26, at Wilks Funeral Home (211 West Chubbuck Road). Interment will be in Bloomington, Idaho.
