Tresa Mae Hansen

October 26, 1931 — August 22, 2019

Tresa Mae Wiseman Hansen passed away peacefully at her home on August 22, 2019, with her family by her side. Tresa was born October 26, 1931 in Basalt, Idaho. She was the first child of Jesse and Lela Wiseman, and later welcomed a younger sister, Gloria Beck. She attended grade school in Basalt and graduated from Firth High School in 1949, where she played clarinet in the band. She also attended LDS Business School in Idaho Falls, ID. She met her husband Norman in high school. They began dating their senior year and were married on November 29, 1950 in Idaho Falls, ID. Tresa and Norman lived in Idaho Falls, ID; Dothan, Alabama; Weiser, ID and finally settled in Pocatello ID. They purchased their home in 1959, and still reside there today. Tresa and Norman had four children: Kevin, Randy, Scott, and Kelli. Tresa loved her entire family with all her heart. Family was so important to her. Tresa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Cub Scout leader, an organist and also an accompanist for many. Tresa loved music, and had a beautiful singing voice. She sang in a quartet with Bertha Marler, Ruth Bitton and Betty Armstrong, with Charlotte Hughes as accompanist. They sang together at many events around the city. Tresa loved to sew and make crafts, including the dozens of quilts, blankets and afghans she made for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and feed her family delicious meals and sweets. She also loved to garden and grow flowers. Tresa enjoyed fishing and camping with her family, especially at Little Lost and Island Park, a special place that she and Norman created to bring our family together. She loved and adored her husband, family and grandkids. Tresa became sick in 1981, and received a kidney transplant from her son Scott in 1990. Her new kidney lasted for nearly 27 years, until she started dialysis in 2016. She was a courageous lady and a fighter, and she never gave up. Every day she said that tomorrow would be better. Tresa is survived by her husband, Norman; her children, Kevin (Sue), Randy (Joan), Scott (Joni), Kelli (Randall); 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Chad (Lindsay), Andy (Jen), Dusty (Becca), Angie (Jay), Emily (Tyson), Nick (Kaitlin), Amanda (Brit), Taryn (Ryan), Kyrsten (Sam), Jace (Amy), Taigen (Grady), and Brittany; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lela; her sister, Gloria; and her son, Scott. A special thank you to Dr. Fahim Rahim for his loving care and friendship. The Idaho Kidney Center and Brooke, Justin, and Scott. Julie and Derrick at Gateway, and Encompass Home Health and her nurse, Sarah, for their wonderful care. Also a special thank you to Carl and Bertha Marler for their longtime friendship to Mom and Dad. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11 am at the Alameda Stake Center, 930 E. Alameda Rd. Pocatello, ID, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am prior at the church.
