Thomas "Tom" Edward Palmer, 65, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at home with his loving wife and nephew by his side. Tom was born on March 5, 1950 in Salmon, Idaho. He graduated from Salmon High School and promptly joined the U.S. Army. He served a tour in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He was also an active member of the POW/MIA Awareness Association rally. Tom retired from J.R. Simplot in 2012, after 40 years of service to a great company. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Debra Palmer; parents, Larry and Jeanie Banta; daughter, Heather (Josh) Mauch and their children, Thias (Colton) Krueger and son, Vincent, Amanda Orr, and Jasmyne Mauch. He is also survived by his sisters, Karen Black, Krys Crist and Loni Hooper. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Layne Banta and Gary Myers. Tom was loved by all who knew him and touched everyone around him. He will be dearly missed and has always been deeply respected and loved. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 1 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500.
