Thomas Lee Taylor, 66, of Burley, Idaho, passed away February 12, 2025.
Tom was born on May 29, 1958, in Butte, Montana, to John Lewis Frye and Sharon Ruth Moore. He was raised in Northern Montana and Northern Idaho before later spending many years in Washington, Utah, and Oregon.
After graduating from Lewiston High School, Tom proudly joined the Idaho National Guard, where he served his country with dedication.
In 1990, Tom married his pen pal from Alaska, Kathy Huffman. They shared a bond as best friends, companions, and soulmates for over three decades. Together, they raised four children: Brandie, Aaron, Sara, and Adam. Tom was a devoted husband and a fun-loving father who brought joy to his family with his hardworking and adventurous spirit.
Throughout his life, Tom was committed to excellence in his work, always giving 100% no matter the task. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying camping, hiking, fishing, and exploring back roads and trails on anything with wheels. In the winter, he loved racing snowmobiles through the mountains.
Growing up, Tom was often the instigator of daily adventures with his sisters, Debbie, Mary, Betty, and Nancy, and his brother, Ted. These siblings share countless stories and fond memories of their time together.
Tom also had a special place in his heart for volunteering, especially during the time he and Kathy spent at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area in Florence, Oregon, where they enjoyed new adventures and met many wonderful people. Tom's love for mechanics also led him to spend many hours restoring old cars and trucks.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tom found strength and comfort in his faith.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Huffman Taylor, of Burley, Idaho; children, Brandie Buhler & family, Aaron Foshaug & family, Sara Foshaug & family, and Adam Foshaug & family; his siblings, Debbie Johnson & family, Mary Graybill & family, Betty Bridwell & family, Nancy Krieger & family, and Ted Taylor & family; and five grandchildren, Aria, Felicie, Lily, Gary, and Samantha, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
