Thomas E. Nash, 71, long-time resident of Pocatello, ID, was called by his heavenly father and passed away at his home on Monday, February 7, 2022.
Thomas was born June 14, 1950, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Lloyd E. Nash, and Luella B. Nash. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and 10 of his siblings. Thomas is survived by his son, Christopher Thomas Nash, and daughters, Brittney Lynn Nash, and Hannah Cherie Nash. Also, by his former wife and dear friend, Tracy Lynn Nash and sister Dona Marlene Nash-Daw.
Thomas grew up in Idaho Falls, closest in age to his sister Dona. After returning from Vietnam, he met and married Tracy Lynn Thompson and they settled in Pocatello. They began their family shortly thereafter welcoming Christopher, then Brittney, and finally Hannah. Thomas worked most of his life as a tradesman, Cement Finisher, and business owner. He was an avid fisherman and camping enthusiast. Thomas enjoyed being in nature and there was rarely a time that he would say no to an outdoor activity. He had a passion for the arts ranging from participation in theater and choirs, to sculpture of any material he had access to. He painted beautiful portraits of his children among other things. He was a proud father and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Thomas was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and tried to live his life with grace, humility, and generosity. His unexpected passing has left a void in the lives of those of us who loved him, but we take solace that he is now at peace.
The family will hold a wake at Thomas' home 2529 S. Fairway Drive, Pocatello ID on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, from 6:00-9:00 PM MT. There will be a viewing and all family and friends are welcome to join us celebrating Thomas' life.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, beginning with a second viewing held at Thomas' Church located at 2000 S. Fairway Drive, Pocatello, ID open to friends and family starting at 10:00 AM MT, with services beginning at 11:00 AM MT. The family will hold a luncheon following the service prior to driving to Annis Little Butte Cemetery, E. Menan Lorenzo Hwy, Rigby, ID. The family requests in lieu of flowers that those funds be donated to the local VFW or DAV in Thomas' memory.
Memories and condolences can be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
