Terri Jo Naasz Baker, age 71, of Pocatello, passed away early Friday morning, June 2 1 , 2019, at Portneuf Medical Center with family by her side . At her request, no services will be held. Terri Jo was born April 2 3 . , 1948, in Emmet, Idaho . D aughter of the late Merl Dean and Charlotte Elizabeth Thor n ton (Hall) , s he was also preceded in death by her husband Larry (Bake) Baker of Wyoming. Terri Jo is survived by one son and two daughters : John Dean Hughes (Veronica) of Pocatello Charine Jol ynn Zahm (Shane) of Pocatello Laura Jennifer Hughes of Boise ; Nine Grandchildren : Jessica, Anthony, Ashley, Meghan, Siarah , Brayden, Makayla, Carson ; Eight Great - Grandchildren : Devin, Payton, Felix, Jayce, Aven , Aabel , Adilene , Liam ; S iblings : Jerry Thor n ton, Gary Thor n ton , LeRoy Thor n ton ; And numerous extended family members and friends (Jackie Kitch i n ) . T e rri was a busy woman , working as a caregiver most of her life between CNA work, bus driver aide, childcare provider, and devoted mother to her three children. She married John Max Hughes Sr. in July of 1968 and from this union John, Char , and Jenny were born . After seven years their marriage ended . In June of 19 97 she married the love of her life , Larry Baker. They shared a home together in Mills, Wyo ming where Larry drove for a trucking company, and Terr i was a bus driver aide and childcare provider . She loved those kids as if they were her own. For fun, she would go down to the bingo hall . In her retirement , after the passing of Bake in 2007 , s he moved to Pocatello, Idaho to be near family. She enjoyed being close to her children and grandchildren . Her grandchildr en and great - grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was their biggest cheerleader. She loved visiting with them and watching them grow up. Grandma Terri was a fiercely independent woman , and very stubborn. She was also very funny and witty. There was never a dull moment around her. Her laugh was infectious, and her hugs were simply the best. She loved to play slots, cards, and knit , a nd you wouldnt catch her missing a football game during the on season. Her children and g randchildren will miss her deeply but will always carry the memory of her in their hearts
