Taunya Pew, 54, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in Pocatello, Idaho surrounded by family after a hard-fought journey with cancer.
Taunya was born and raised in Boise, Idaho where she met her husband of 32 years, Steve. The two moved to Pocatello shortly after marrying in 1989. She worked at the Idaho State University Student Health Center for most of her career, as well as Bright Tomorrow’s Child Advocacy Center.
.
She had a love for crafting, specifically scrapbooking, gardening, cooking and baking. She had a way of putting her own touch on every recipe. Her spaghetti was loved by the entire family, and requested often. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she enjoyed the many art projects and baking they did together. They always looked forward to spending time with her, and taking naps in her RV known as Grandma’s playhouse.
She is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Cassaundra (Michael), son Erich (Danielle), her three grandchildren, Nyxon, Easton, and Zoey, and her brother Rob.
Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Portneuf Cancer Center, and Heritage Home Health & Hospice for their loving care.
A celebration of life is scheduled for her birthday, August 29th in Pocatello. More information to follow. In lieu of flowers, Taunya asked that donations be made to the cancer patient assistance fund at the Portneuf Cancer Center.
