Tanya Lee Nelson

Tanya Lee Gigger Nelson passed away October 2, 2017 at Portneuf Medical Center after a brief illness.

Tanya was born August 18, 1969, the sixth daughter and the ninth child of Charles Emery Gigger and Ida Lyons Gigger. She attended Syringa Elementary and Alameda Junior High, graduating from Highland High School in 1987. She married Carroll Wayne Nelson, Jr on May 27, 1995.

Tanya was the mother of two beautiful children, Charles "Charlie" and Tesla Nelson. She worked at The Pressbox for 22 years and at Eaton Metals. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various callings, most recently Relief Society president and Sunday School teacher. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Tanya is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Charlie and Tesla Nelson; mother, Ida Gigger; mother-in-law, Cecily Nelson; sisters-in-law, Abby Nelson-Toland (Robert Toland) and Mercedes Nelson; brother-in-law, Erik Nelson; sisters, Marvi Gigger (Terry Patrick), Janice Newsom, Tami (Theon) Hall, Ceva (Jerry) Cottrell and Starla (Bruce) Prescott; brothers, Greg (Larie) Gigger, Emery (Marbet) Gigger and Kent (Roseann) Gigger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Tanya was preceded in death by her father, Charles Emery Gigger and father-in-law, Carroll Wayne Nelson.

A viewing will be held at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30pm and on Thursday, October 5, 2017 one hour prior to the services. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00am at Wilks Funeral Home. Her interment will follow the services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
