Tamara Lee Lish, 70, passed away on March 20, 2025. Tamara was born on July 21, 1954 to Dave and LaRae Lish.
Tami and her brothers Paul and Mitch were raised on the family farm south of Inkom. They had many adventures playing in the creek, riding their runner sleds down the road to catch the school bus, and summers playing with cousins. After watching the movie Toby Tyler, Tami wanted to learn to ride horses like the girl in the circus, standing on Sugar’s back. Her older brother Paul would lead Sugar around for Tami to get circus practice in until Sugar grew tired of it all. Growing up she garnered a strong work ethic. Tami always worked hard so she could play harder.
She attended Inkom Elementary and graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1972. After high school she attended barber college in Boise. When she completed barber school she came back to Poky and worked at Pro Barbers and eventually owned Tami’s Back Door Hair Care.
Tami loved being a barber. She loved her customers and made many lifelong friends. She had a knack at giving compliments that made you feel special. She always loved makeup, nail polish and perfume. When her nieces and nephews were teenagers, she loved to have them try all the new products she found. She was really in her element in the barber shop.
In the early 2000s Tami started a new adventure and became a Realtor for Premier Properties and recently Silver Creek. There are many in the real estate community that will miss her.
Tami was the ultimate dog/cat mom. She was absolutely devoted to her beloved animals.
Tami loved to wear fancy clothing, going to the ballet, and listening to classical music. She also loved riding 4 wheelers, playing in the creek and blasting old country and rock and roll. If a concert was announced she would be the first to say she wanted to go. You would always find her singing along and dancing like a kid in the rain.
Another one of Tami's great joys was going on trips especially with her mom. Going to Salt Lake to go shopping was something they both looked forward to and they went often. She was always down for an adventure.
Tami was a presence. Her laugh was distinctive, and her joy could be contagious. She had a way to either entertain you or terrify you. She was an amazing blend of opposites; she could be gentle and loving one minute and cussing like a sailor the next. You always knew where you stood with her.
Tami was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers Paul (Luana) Lish and Mitch Lish; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Thank you to everyone that has reached out and shared such kind words.
