Suzanne Mccormick

November 24, 1942 — February 7, 2014

Suzanne McCormick died February 7, 2014 at the home of her son John Michael McCormick. The cause of death was cancer. John Michael and her youngest son James were both present when she passed.

Suzanne was a lifelong, passionate student of astrology. She was a deeply spiritual person, a seeker who explored many faiths and ultimately found great consolation in the teachings of Jesus who reminds us: "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." (John 5:24, World English Bible).

She studied the teachings of Ram Dass as well: "In this spiritual heart there is peace, there is contentment, and there is compassion. There is also joy and wisdom, all inside of your spiritual heart and mine."

She was a great lover and protector of animals and devoted her volunteer energies and donations to PAWS, Pocatello Animal Welfare Society. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to that organization: P.O. Box 1603, Pocatello, Idaho 83204.

Professionally, Suzanne was known for her dedication to her clients' needs, which brought out her loyalty and perfectionism—whether in medical assisting, hospitality, or real-estate.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary Higgins, and Steve Sugalski; stepfather Lou Higgins, and two beloved aunts: Elaine Ipson and Georgia Colson. And by her dog Gus—whom she considered to be more than a pet, but a dear, dear friend.

Survivors include her sons, John Michael (Lana), James (Cindy), both of Pocatello, and Mark of San Francisco, California; four sisters: Lillian Wieland, Carolyn Christopher, both residing in Ohio, where Suzanne was born, Nicky Higgins from Nevada, and Sherrill Box from Alaska; several nieces and nephews; cousin Dorothy Ann Pew (Colorado); her beloved grandchildren: Hally, Michael, and Jordyn McCormick from Pocatello, and her dog Izzie, currently living with James and Cindy and their three dogs.

The family is deeply grateful for the numerous friends who were devoted to her well-being on all levels towards the end of her life. In particular we thank Kodie Parker, and her physician, Dr. Joseph Neil Ragan.

Suzanne preferred the family gather for a private memorial rather than a public funeral.
