Susan Linscott

November 1, 1913 — November 25, 2012

Susan Alpha Linscott, 99, rejoined many deceased, loving family members, her Heavenly Father, and Savior, Jesus Christ for a grand reunion on November 25, 2012. Susan was the youngest daughter of William Gish Higley and Nannie Rachel Johnson; and wife of Joseph M. Linscott; mother of Elaine, Larry, Linda, and Nancy Linscott; grandmother of 12; great grandmother of 30 and great great-grandmother of 6.

She was born in 1913 and raised in Farmington, Kansas. She attended Atchison County Community High School. Her many friends knew her as Susie. Joe and Susie were active members of Farmington Christian Church. Early in their marriage they lived in Holton, Cummings, Frankfort, Augusta, Wichita and finally Effingham, Kansas, where they raised their family on a small farm. Joe worked at Page Airways and Susie was a homemaker, active in church, unit, choir, gardening and sewing. She was a fabulous cook and was a grand champion quilter numerous times at the county fair.

She loved the Lord and instilled that love in the hearts of her children. She moved to Idaho Falls in 2007 for health reasons to live with her daughter, and then in 2012 they moved to Pocatello, Idaho to be near family. Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her son, Larry; her granddaughter, Cheryl; and her great granddaughter Sara. She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Guard of Pocatello, Idaho; Linda Hearn of Wasilla, Alaska; Nancy Linscott of Firestone, Colorado; eleven grandchildren plus all her greats.

Memorial services will be held in the spring in Farmington, Kansas. She will be buried with her husband and son in Effingham Cemetery.
