Susie was born January 20, 1949 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Clarence and Leah Trego Kimball. Welcoming Susie into the world was her older brother, Jay V. Anderson. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1967. Susie had been active in several school clubs, and played the flute in the Marching Band. Following high school, she worked at the Chief Theater and attended Idaho State University, pursing a degree in medical administration.
In December 1968, Susie married David Jacobson. In 1972 their son Davis Gordon was born. Susie and David lived in several places during his time in the Army, including Texas, Georgia and Germany. They divorced in 1981 and Susie returned to Pocatello and resumed her studies at ISU. After her schooling Susie worked as the Office Manager for Dr. Goodman and Dr. Mickleson at Idaho Orthopedics.
In June 1984 she married Frank Rosa. They resided in Pocatello where they had three children together, Hailey, Elisabeth and Quest. With Davis, and Frank’s previous 2 children, Frankie and Heather, theirs was a large and active household. The door was always open.
Susie was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and served in many ways, including singing in the choir. She served meals at “My Brother’s Table” and volunteered at Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center. Susie was also involved in the LDS community, attending the Caldwell Park ward, where she served as a cub scout leader for many years. She later joined the LDS Church and her and Frank were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Susie was always active in her community. Among other things, she served as a volunteer at the Bannock County voting booths, participated in the community garden , senior center, and local schools.
Susie cared for her mother during a long and difficult illness, helping her to pass away at home. She was the most supportive and encouraging friend. Although ethereal in appearance and demeanor, she had an inner strength that allowed her to care for others while weathering many of her own storms. Above all, Susie was passionately devoted to all of her children and grandchildren.
Over the last few years Susie had several health issues that were of concern, including an underlying heart condition and a hearnia which caused her to go septic, resulting in multiple surgeries. She struggled with the effects of Traumatic Brain Injury and related dementia for years. Susan Kimball Rosa passed away from the effects of Alzheimer’s diseases on September 13, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Susie was predeceased by her parents, her brother, her nephew Lyle Anderson, and her first grandchild, Britain Jacobson. She leaves to mourn, with full and grateful hearts, her husband Frank, her children, Davis Jacobson (Heather), Hailey Rosa Kotter (Daniel), Elisabeth Rosa (Cory), Quest Rosa (Liz); her step-children Frankie Rosa (Mandy) and Heather Rosa Schlenker (Linden) ; and her grandchildren Michael Prudhomme (Drea), Riley Schlenker, MadaLynn Wright Castillo (Rudy) Blakely Castillo, Bello Rosa, Aliya, Wyatt and Lucy Kotter, and Journey Rosa. Susie is also mourned by her brother’s children, Craig (Josephine) and Carolyn Anderson, and by the extended Jacobson and Rosa families.
Only the angels know all that she has done. She will be missed. May she now rest in peace.
