Susan Carole Muir

June 16, 1945 — December 18, 2021

Susan Carol Muir was born Susan Carole England on June 16, 1945 in Logan, UT. Her parents were John and Norma England and she was the middle child of six (Norma Rae, John Dee, Peggy Ann, Kent and Bob).

Sue was a proud graduate of Pocatello High school and maintained close friendships with many of her classmates throughout her life. She loved traveling, swimming and Mexican food. One of her favorite activities was taking her grandkids to lunch at Taco Bell during their school lunch breaks. Another favorite pastime was visiting her friend Barbara Aslett in Hawaii and enjoying the island life.

Sue loved education and was always reading and learning. One of the proudest moments of her life was the day she graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Finance. She enjoyed working in Banking, selling Real Estate and being a Mortgage loan officer.

She was known for her compassion and service to others, spending countless hours caring for sick neighbors and helping others whenever she could. Throughout her life, she devoted time to the Relief Society providing compassionate service to ward members. Even later in life when her health was failing she was concerned about others and making sure they were taken care of.

Sue was married to Frank Hough and lived in McCammon for 30 years. She loved living in McCammon where she made many wonderful friends, whom she enjoyed attending BYU Education week with. She was involved in the community and served on the Marsh Valley school board.

Sue spent the last 20 years of her life married to Eldon Muir. With Eldon she enjoyed being campground hosts in Oregon and Idaho. One of the highlights of her life was serving a mission in Palmyra, New York where she spent time at the Sacred Grove, the Whitmer Farm and Grandon’s Printing Press. After returning to Pocatello they served two more missions at the Bishops Storehouse. After those missions she and Eldon continued to serve in the Idaho Falls temple for several years.

Sue is followed in death by her husband Eldon. She is survived by her brothers, Dee England, Kent England and Bob England and her children Jeff and Debbie Hough, Lance and Wendy Elison and Brad Hough and her grandchildren Cassidy Bybee, Ian Hough, Tucker Hough, Andrew Hough, Shayla Hoskins, Cutter Elison, Trei Hough, Kaylin Hough.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Whitaker LDS chapel, 4890 Whitaker Rd, Chubbuck, ID 83202. Webcasting of Sue's funeral service will be available. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Logan City Cemetery, 1000 N 1200 E, Logan, UT 84321.
