Sue Hales

d. December 28, 2014

Sue R. Hales passed from her mortal existence to join her husband and a son in the next stage of their eternal progression. She left us on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the age of 81. Sue and her twin sister were born to Valera and Ray Rigsby in a rural section of Alabama. She was raised and educated in Montgomery, Alabama up through her high school years and graduation. After graduation, Sue relocated to Norfolk, Virginia to fill a position in one of the U.S. Navy's secretarial pools. It was in Norfolk she met her future husband, William E. Hales, a naval recruit stationed there. After marrying, she spent her life raising her 4 children living in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Alaska. Her last 30 years were in Pocatello, Idaho. Sue loved her bowling and through the years of being married, she bowled on doubles leagues with her husband, Bill, Sue later joined three different weekly senior leagues, competing into her 81st year. She was humbly proud of the 3 games in which she totaled a score of higher than 200, during sanctioned league play. Sue loved her church, family and friends and she will be greatly missed. Sue is preceded in death by husband, William E. Hales and her baby son, Jody Hales. Sue is survived by her 3 siblings, Ann Larson, Donald Rigsby and James Rigsby; children, E. Ray Hales, Carol Sallaberry, Merlin Hales, and Derwin Hales. A memorial gathering will be Wednesday December 31, 2014 at 2 PM at the LDS El Rancho Ward, 300 E. Chapel St. Pocatello, ID.
