Steven "Steve" Michael Riggott

On August 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family, Steven Michael Riggott, 64, was called to heaven after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born July 24, 1951, the second of three children, to Harold and Dolly Riggott in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Throughout his childhood he lived from North Dakota to Louisiana and every state in between. Steve attended school in Dolores, Colorado where he graduated from High School in 1969. After graduating, he had several jobs from mining and truck driving before finding his way to Idaho. His most recent job was with Doug Andrus Distributing in Idaho Falls as shop foreman where he formed a very close bond with everyone. Steve married Linda Williams and raised her two daughters as his own. To that marriage a son was born. In 2009 Steve married Jill Jolley and to that marriage another daughter was united. Steve enjoyed riding his Harley, playing with his beloved dog, Kodi, fishing, boating, golfing, bowling and spending time with his family at the Blackfoot Reservoir where he loved watching the sun rise. He was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed taking his family to the gun range teaching them proper gun safety. He loved remodeling his homes and woodworking. Steves family was his pride and joy. Steve is survived by his wife, Jill (Jolley); son, Justin (Jodi) Riggott; stepdaughters, Tricia (David) Andersen, Traci (Wade) Peterson, Whitney Harris; brother, Larry Riggott; sister, Judy (Steve) Walker; sister-in-law, Susan (Pat) Nay; mother-in-law, Joanne Jolley; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dolly Riggott; father-in-law, Wayne Jolley; sister, Joan (who passed at birth); and brother-in-law, Steven Jolley. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Fransico and the staff at the Portneuf Cancer Center and Encompass Hospice for their support and kindness shown during Steves fight. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 6-8 Pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11 am also at Colonial Funeral Home with a viewing for one hour prior to services.
