Steven Oleen Stokes

November 30, 1953 — December 29, 2023

Steven Oleen Stokes was born November 30, 1953, to Theron and Lola Mae Stokes in Pocatello, Idaho. Steve attended school in Pocatello, Idaho, graduating from Highland High School in 1972.

After graduating High School, Steven joined the United States Air Force, then later in life joined the Idaho National Guard, serving in many capacities.

Steve met and married his sweetheart Terri Lynne (Kimbell) Stokes on June 6, 1975, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union three beautiful children were born, Christopher, Melissa and Nicole.

Steve attended Idaho State University where he received his associate degree in Instrumentation. He secured his first job out of college in Moses Lake WA at U&I Sugar. A few short months later Steve received a job offer at the INEL, which resulted in the family moving back to Pocatello, Idaho. Steve worked at the INEL for 25 years in the roles of Instrument Tech, Forman and Planner. He then worked on the road with his sweetheart seeing new places and meeting new people. At the time of his passing, Steve was back working with INL as a contract planner.

Steve was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the NRA.

Steve loved being in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing were a large part of his life. Being with family, 4 wheeling, boating, camping and supporting grandchildren in all their academic and sporting pursuits. What he loved most of all was hunting pheasants with his dogs and sharing his hunting adventure stories with others.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents.

Steve is survived by his amazing spouse Terri Lynne, Chubbuck, Idaho; son Christopher, Chubbuck, Idaho; daughter Melissa (Joe) Horner of Bozeman Montana; daughter Nicole (Kevin) Fernandez of Jerome, Idaho; two sisters Patricia (Dallas) Powell of Orem Utah, Pamela (Cory) Dunn of Canton, Georgia and two brothers Michael (Jackie) Stokes of Pocatello, Idaho and Jeffrey (Sandra) Stokes of Panguitch Lake Utah; 5 grandchildren Cameron and Meghan Horner, Cooper, Wesley and Aubrey Fernandez.
