Steven Christopher Welker

May 18, 1966 — July 24, 2023

In Loving Memory of Steve Christopher Welker May 18, 1966 – July 24, 2023.

Steven Christopher Welker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away on July 24, 2023, in Pocatello, Idaho, leaving behind a legacy of love, service and cherished memories. Steve was born on May 18, 1966, in Glendale, California, to Joann Turner and the late James Lewis Welker.

Growing up in Azusa and Glendora, Steve lived a fulfilling life filled with love and laughter. He met the love of his life, Renee Welker, in January of 1989, and their bond only grew stronger with time. They were married in December of 1989 and embarked on a beautiful journey of marriage and family life.

A devoted family man, Steve found his greatest joy in spending time with his loved ones. Together, Steve and Renee were blessed with a wonderful family of 6 beautiful children and 7 grandchildren. Their family grew with the birth of their children Kaitlin Booth Welker (Chris), Adam Christopher Welker (Alexis), Landon James Welker (Olivia), Whitney Ann Welker, Sara Welker Miles (Jonny), and Hallie Grace Welker. Steve was also blessed to be a grandfather to Ryder and Callie Booth (Kaitlin and Chris), Jaxx, Aurora, Kindrid, Vi and one on the way (Adam and Alexis), and Lola (Landon and Olivia).

Ambitious and driven, Steve pursued a successful career in the insurance industry, where he made his mark as an entrepreneur and salesman. In 2008, he founded his own insurance agency, Ideal Solutions Insurance, which allowed him to serve his clients with dedication and integrity.

Despite his professional achievements, Steve’s true passion was his family and two dogs, Abby and Lily. He adored spending quality time with them creating beautiful memories through family outings and celebrating special moments together. Watching movies together was one of their favorite pastimes, where they found joy in shared laughter and fun stories.

Not only did Stee have a heart for his family, but he also had a deep sense of compassion for others. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, offering his service and support to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

His presence will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Renee Welker, his children, grandchildren, and his mother, Joann Turner. Steve is also survived by his brothers, David and Jimmy, and his sister, Donna. He will also be greatly missed by his sister-in-law, Wendy, his brother-in-law, Mike, and many nieces and nephews who called him their Uncle Bubby.

As he joins his father, James Lewis Welker and his niece, Jennifer Priolo, we know that they will watch over their family from above, forever in their hearts and memories.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on August 17, 2023, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and again on August 18, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on August 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in honor of the profound impact he had on the lives of many. His spirit will live on through the love he shared and the memories he created. All events will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints church in Glendora on 120 N. Oakbank Dr., Glendora, CA 91741.

“As we mourn the loss of our dear Steve, let us also celebrate the joy he brought to our lives. In every smile, in every shared moment, and in every act of kindness, his spirit lives on.”
