Steven Allen Blair passed away in Pocatello, Idaho on November 28, 2021. Steve was born on September 12, 1960 in Whittier, CA to Shirley Steele. He was the oldest of his siblings, Stacy Bloemke, Shane Steele, Sherry Crangle and Kim May. Steve grew up primarily in Halfway, OR where he was raised by his grandparents, Hugh and Flora Braten.
During his high school years, Steve enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, skiing and repelling. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1978-1983, where he served as a Gunners Mate on the USS Wichita.
He married Julie Ann Jones on December 30, 1985 in Elko, NV. They lived for a short time in Halfway, OR then moved to Pocatello, ID. Together they enjoyed riding motorcycles and raising their family.
For the past 10 years, Steve devoted his time to the American Legion and Bannock County Veterans Court as a mentor. He loved helping the Veterans and serving the community.
Steve is survived by his wife, Julie Blair; children, James Ashe, Amanda Ashe, and Shae Blair; mother, Shirley Steele; his siblings; and many grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hugh and Flora Braten.
A celebration of life will be held in Steve's honor from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building, 300 N. Johnson Ave, Pocatello, ID 83204. Please join us in celebrating Steve’s life.
