Sterlin L. Watson, 98, passed away August 21, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was born December 11, 1922 to Orson and Evalina Watson in Plymouth, Utah. Growing up he lived in Plymouth as well as Robin, Idaho where he worked on the family farm. While living in Robin he met and married his wife of 71 years, Janice Evans Watson. The couple moved to Pocatello where they raised their four daughters…LaRue, Brenda, Debbie, and Shelley.
Sterlin was a truck driver at Garrett Freightlines in Pocatello for more than 35 years. He and his wife enjoyed many outdoor activities such as motorcycling, snowmobiling, and camping although his favorite pastimes were spending time with his horses, dogs, and raising calves. After retiring, Sterlin enjoyed RVing with his wife, daughters, and their families. They all loved going to Island Park and spending summers at Seagull Bay. He and Janice loved music and dancing
Sterlin is survived by his daughters LaRue Hall (Jim Phelps), Brenda Gates, Debbie Hales (Jon), and Shelley Allen (Jim), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Tracey Watson of Pocatello and Clyde Watson of Boise as well as his loving companion and friend of 5 years, Leah Bybee. He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, a son-in-law John Hall and two grandsons, Jeff Hall and Jordan Hall.
Per Sterlin’s wishes a graveside service will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11 AM at Marsh Center Cemetery in Arimo, Idaho. Due to the current public health crisis the family asks anyone attending the service wear a mask.
