Stephen Clyde Nelson, 66 of Pocatello, passed away July 3, 2016 at his home. Steve was born January 20, 1950 to Clyde Nelson and Mildred Cornwall Nelson. He was the baby of the family being the 8th child.
Steve was raised in Pocatello where he also attended school. He met Anita Helen Winters in Missouri and they married in 1968 and were blessed with two boys Steve Jr. & Matt. Helen and Steve later divorced. Steve later met Linda Brown and they were married in June 2000. They just celebrated their 16th Anniversary.
Steve worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 37 years; mostly in track maintenance. He retired in 2010.
Steve absolutely loved the outdoors and rarely went anywhere without his fishing pole in the truck. He enjoyed to hunt, fish and camp; especially with his family. Steve also loved attending sports events and dance recitals for his grandchildren. They were very important to him. Steve had great pride for his two boys and all the grandchildren.
Steve had an infectious laugh. If he was laughing, so was everyone else around him. He could make light of almost any situation.
Steve was diagnosed with lung and colon cancer and began treatments. He was very strong through surgeries and never complained about being sick. He didn't want his family to worry about him or know just how sick he was.
He is survived by; his wife, Linda; sons, Stephen Nelson Jr. (Rachel) and Matt (Marisa) Nelson; stepchildren, Craig, Todd and Chrissy; siblings, Larry (Elaine) Nelson, Russ (Bettie) Nelson, Lois Rawson and Sandy (Jerry) Jensen; grandchildren, C.J., Jennifer, Jesse, Chris, Riley-Ann, Jony, Brooklyn, Sarah, Michael and Michael; great-grandchildren, Jaedin, Max and Jessalyn.
