Stephanie Dawn Richardson passed away January 6, 2025.

Born August 10, 1960 to Darwin G. Richardson and Kathy C. Richardson in Pocatello Idaho, Stephanie was raised in Pocatello ID, Downey ID, and Newport Beach CA. She graduated from Upland High School in Newport Beach in 1978.

Stephanie traveled all over the world, her favorite travels were to Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, and other beachside locations. Stephanie loved the beach and adored living in Newport Beach, often surfing with her friends.

Stephanie worked as a buyer and saleswoman for her mother’s company, Countryside Interiors, for 18 years, handling interior design for a wide variety of clients. Everywhere Stephanie traveled she would look for unique pieces to use in her designs, often bringing home treasures for her clients to enjoy.

Stephanie graduated with her ABA in Business Administration in 1999 before seeking her BBA in Marketing from Idaho State University, where she graduated in 2003. Stephanie’s hard work while studying resulted in 4 academic scholarships and a spot on the Dean’s Honor List. Her family is very proud of her hard work and graduation.

In 2008 Stephanie began working for Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council as a Marketing Manager. Stephanie’s work with the Girl Scouts helped hundreds of girls over 7 counties, where she managed more than 250 volunteers, writing grants, growing membership, and managing the annual cookie program.

In 2013 Stephanie moved to Idaho State University to write grants for the Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center, before advancing to become the Assistant Director for Programming in 2014. Stephanie spearheaded many impactful and important programs. Stephanie could take an idea and turn it into a full-fledged event and make it look easy.

Stephanie became the ISU Assistant Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusion in 2023, followed by the Training and Education Specialist role in 2024.

Stephanie built strong relationships across campus and in the community. She was a member of many boards and committees helping to enact positive changes for the people in her area.

Stephanie was passionate about rescue animals, adopting several mischievous dogs in her lifetime, and caring for any cat that came by and adopted her.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to Family Services Alliance of Southeast Idaho, Bannock Humane Society, or the Pocatello Animal Shelter.

Stephanie is survived by her half-siblings Joshua (Kelly) of Grants Pass, Oregon, Jason (Jasmin) of Rigby, Idaho, Nathan (Jelaire) of Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Barry (Emily) of Brigham City, Utah, and Sarah (Bradley) of Webster, Texas, as well as her stepmother Nina, 27 nieces and nephews, and 8 grand nieces and nephews.
