Stanley "Stan" Leonard Swanson, 78, passed away at his home on Friday, September 30, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Stanley was born April 19, 1938 in Spokane, Washington to Donald and Katheryn Swanson. He attended grade school in Kevin, Montana, high school in Sunburst, Montana and attended tech school as an Electrician apprentice. Stanley served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. He worked for Marias River Power Co. as a lineman from 1966 to 1971, then for Idaho Power from 1972 to 1997, retiring in 1997. Stanley married Lorita Bolingbroke, Permann, on November 26, 1988. They were married for 28 years and Stan lovingly referred to her as Doris. Stan would always tell her that "his time with her was the best years of his life." He belonged to the Lutheran faith. Stan enjoyed camping, riding ATVs, Western music, Rodeos and PBR. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids sports. Stanley is survived by his wife, Lorita Swanson, Pocatello, ID; daughters, Lyndie Green, Meridian, ID, Kellie (Will) Sharp, Meridian, ID; sons, Levi (Chrissie) Swanson, Pocatello, ID, Tom (Trish) Swanson, Orem, UT; Step-daughter, Joni (Mike) Petersen, Straton, NE; step-sons, Vaun (Beatriz) Permann, Antioch, CA, Joe Nebeker, Blackfoot, ID, Don (Julie) Nebeker, Provo, UT; sister, Lavonne Hersiem, Pocatello, ID; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Robert Swanson; mother, Katheryn Fay Swanson; brothers, Lee Swanson, Neil Swanson; and son-in-law, Aaron Green. Military Honors will be presented on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11 am at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204. 39 East, Row 7, Space 5.
