Stanley Merrill

Stanley Lawrence Merrill, 76, passed away on December 22, 2016 at Portneuf Medical Center following a long illness. His family was with him. He was born on September 3, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho to Aseneth Anna Gill and Alexander Standley Merrill. He attended Pocatello Public Schools, Idaho State University and Eastern Washington State. He was a lifelong member of the Latter Day Saint Church. He served a Mission in the Gulf States Mission, and served in many Church callings throughout his life. On June 6, 1964 he married Sallye George in the Idaho Falls Temple. He began working at a very young age and was a high achiever at whatever he did. He delivered papers, moved irrigation pipe, set pins at Pine Bowl, worked for a furnace company, drove trucks and had a long sales career mostly in Real Estate. He and Bern Dayley owned a Wholesale Appliance Business in Washington and Chicago. He was a Real Estate Agent and part owner of Coldwell Banker/Landmark in Pocatello, an agent at Prudential Benton's Realty in Seattle and Homeland Real Estate in Pocatello. He was a top producer and earned many awards. He enjoyed bowling, dancing and spending time with his family camping, snowmobiling, and riding dirt bikes. He is survived by his wife, Sallye, children Alex (Ann) and Nicole. Sisters Darlene Wilson, Joy Willis (Rod), Rayann Wendling and brother Maurice (Eileen). Grandchildren Ryan, Jake and Cole Merrill, Jordan, Justin , Jeremy and Christa Vazquez. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Marlene Dye, and Linda LeFleur. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Bringhurst Chapel, 147 Bringhurst St., Chubbuck, ID 83202. A viewing will be held from 5-7pm Tuesday evening, December 27, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
